Aquilo has been planned and built to nestle and blend into the surrounding environment of olive groves and pine trees. The roof is constructed by local craftsmen from traditional Plaka stone, supported by chestnut beams sourced from forests on the mainland which have been managed for centuries by monks. Aquilo has matured to blend sympathetically with its surroundings for all to enjoy.
Exterior lighting illuminates the steps, driveway and the surrounding terraces and patio areas for clients to enjoy el fresco meals whilst watching the evening sun set over Skopelos.
Accessed from both the entrance lobby area and the courtyard bedroom, this 25sqm area with pelion stone terracing around a transplanted olive tree from the existing grove creating a tranquil area for rest and relaxation.
Measuring 9m x 3.5m excluding the steps. The sun terraces surrounding the pool and barbecue have borders of rosemary, tyme and oregano herbs together with young lemon, orange, apricot and almond trees with dramatic views along the forested coastline and out to sea.
